2025 Breedline Changes-Broilers
To Our Valued Customers,
We would like to thank each and every one of you for your business and support! We are writing to inform you that we will be undergoing some significant changes for the 2025 season and beyond.
The business landscape has been challenging for us, to say the least, over the past few years, and we had to make the difficult decision to take our hatchery in a new direction, in order to ensure the continuation of our family business for the future. Along with our customers, we felt the changes that Covid, inflation, supply chain issues, and market shifts brought about.
Due to some large-scale organizational changes, stemming from shifts in market demand, as of January 1st 2025, Jenks Hatchery will no longer be offering broiler chicks. The last hatch for Cornish Cross, Freedom Rangers and Jackie Red Rangers is slated for December 17th, 2024. There is still availability currently, for this hatch date.
We are planning to engage in commercial egg layer production on a large scale and as a result, will be unable to hatch and provide our customers with any broiler chicks after January 1st, 2025 due to regulations stemming from this organizational change.
We will be providing layer chicks exclusively, to customers large and small, continuing our current product offerings, of ColorPack, Rhode Island Red, Barred Rock, and Novogen Brown. We will also be adding the Black Sex Link and potentially the ISA Brown. We may also be able to offer a hybrid white egg layer, if there is sufficient demand for it. We will be able to offer chicks as NPIP and FDA SE Clean, which is a level of cleanliness and sanitation no other retail hatchery can offer, as this is only possible when chicks originate from an SE Clean certified hatchery and egg source.
We understand that this is a substantial change in our current business model. This decision was not made lightly, and we greatly appreciate the opportunity that we have had to supply our many customers with broilers.
We look forward to the bright new future which lies ahead of us, and are excited to continue to serve our customers by providing day old layer chicks!
We will be releasing hatch dates soon, for the 2025 season.
